First International Heritage Sabbath was celebrated on this day. There was enthusiastic participation from several of ethnic groups comprising our church. We identified 16 ethnic groups that were part of our Adventist heritage. The international potluck that followed the divine service was an awesome amalgamation of various tastes from different cultures. Everybody had a lot of fun. Several members stated that we need to do this every year.

General Conference Quintennial session comes to end today. Several of our church members are in Atlanta, GA attending this meeting. About 50,000 adventists from around the world attend this 5 yearly meeting of enrichment and church business.
September 2009:
Several music groups are singing now in our church. Childrens Choral, TTY (Through The Youth), HIS4, Master's Voice all are sharing their music talents during divine hour by singing Praise music and special songs. Lorie Tulia and her son Josh are actively edifying us with their unique talents for special music.
All this is possible because of Melanie Cassidy. Melanie organized these groups and trained the singers in a marvelous way. John her husband and she drive to Beaumont almost every Friday, to take care of the music ministry. Melanie is planning a cantata for Christmas, that will probably the best in this area easily. When final dates anounced, mark your calenders and invite your friends and relative to this Christmas program.

Pastor Orlando Cruz with wife Sandra and his two children Orlando and Meaghan took over the responsibilities as the shepherd of the church. With his contagious zeal and simplistic way of explaining scripture, Pastor Cruz has inspired many people to start new programs in the church and strengthen the ones that are already in place. We are indeed blessed by this family.

Hurricane Edouard visited Beaumont, TX. It was not really a hurricane, though I like to call it. It was just a tropical storm, that had more bark than bite. It did not leave any significant damage behind. See my video on You Tube. Search for it using words "Hurricane Edouard"

Indupallis visited India. Suresh, Sreyah and Abhayah had to return in two weeks. Ponna stayed two more weeks. One interesting development was Suresh's native village Manikonda in South India now has a Seventh Day Adventist Church and School built with funds from Helen Yeager's foundation.

New Church Year:
New Sabbath School year started today. First family to present the Sabbath School Program was Indupallis. Abhayah presented a nice feature on Stress Management Power Point presentation. Suresh read the mission report and Ponna offered prayer. We are hoping all the families in the church participate enthusiastically in the Sabbath School programs.
New Goal:
This quarter mission offerings are going to West Central Africa Division. Our church graciously set the goal for $2000.00 for this quarter. We are very sure that we will meet this goal within 10 sabbaths.

Sabbath School Department with the consent from the church decided to increase our goal for mission offerings to Trans-European Division to $1000.00. If you walk into our church foyer, you will find a tree with a monkey perched on it. The more offering you give the higher the monkey climbs. You can notice the progress of our giving by looking at the fruits on the tree.

Sabbath School council met on 2/11/2007 at Ryans Steakhouse Brunch meeting. After a sumptuous brunch, we started making plans for this year. We will post the minutes of this meeting at a later time. We set a goal of $800.00 for this quarter's mission offerings. In the churh foyer we put a goal meter to let the church members know the progress we are making. We are sure with God's grace we will be able to meet this humble goal.

Change for Change Project
Coin collection is underway for 13th Sabbath offering. Br. Zoch brought in a 5 gallon water bottle with loose change and placed it in the church foyer. Repeat appeals were made to bring loose change and put it in the bottle. We are calling this Change for Change Project. Your pocket change can bring change in the life styles of our brothers and sisters in Africa.

- Upon hearing a moving testimony from the Siringi brothers (from Kenya), Craig Zoch stated that he would save all the loose change (coins) for 13th Sabbath offering for the projects in Africa. Suresh Indupalli stated he would match three times the amount brother Zoch brings in on 13th Sabbath. Dr.Sprott who is visiting the church at the same time, stated he in turn would match brother Indupalli's amount. We are looking forward to a great offering for Kendu Adventist Hospital, in Kenya.
- Our church Sabbath School attendance dramatically increased today. We are requesting all those who attend the divine service, consider coming at 9:20AM for the Sabbath School program because its one Church and one service though divided into three parts.

- Daniel taught The Library class and Suresh taught The Sanctuary class. Suresh used a power point projection to teach. He also employs "socratic" method of teaching where question after question is posed to the students, and in finding the answers the truth is brought home. Daniel and Suresh both use prolific computer imaging to teach.
- We are planning a 13th Sabbath Program on September 30th, 2006. The program starts at 9:20AM. This will be presented by our children. We are asking ALL the church members to show up on time at 9:20 AM to encourage the children. We know that, if you can come to church at 10:30 AM, you can come at 9:20 AM.
- Suresh and Ponna will be in Washington DC from 9/27/2006 to 10/01/2006. Suresh will be attending American Academy of Family Physicians Annual Meeting. Ponna will be er.. Shopping!

Daniel Siringi did an excellent job during Sabbath School Feature Talk. He presented Love Letters from The Epistles of John. He created a power point presentation with those, and even went an extra mile, by printing the handouts in full color. Its amazing what God can do in your life.. Only if you let Him...
