020407-2 Discussed the importance of mission report/mission stories each Sabbath program. Make sure that each superintendent must include mission talk/ mission report for it is the heart of the Sabbath school program. Here are the strategies the council planned to implement:
A. DVD/TV screen-combine juniors and youth in one room so they could watch mission stories, reports.
B. globe/map-place maps or globes so that their teacher can spin and show them a particular country where their offering goes. This way they could appreciate most specially the primary and those in the cradle roll classes that mission work is real and it is important.
C. Involve families in Sabbath school program. Give different task for every member to complete one program, like the mother will do the opening prayer, the children will lead the singing, the father will do the mission report etc.
D. make presentation very creative and interesting like using PowerPoint
E. goal setting. To increase mission offering-the council is aiming to reach a goal of $800 by the end of March. An offering meter is placed at the entrance of the sanctuary to monitor progress of the set goal.
F. checking of attendance for every class-this is a way of monitoring members who attends Sabbath school regularly. A “we missed you” card is to be sent to absent members to let them know that the church care about them.
G. Sabbath school report is also an important part of the Sabbath school program. Each Sabbath Grace Palmer or Malou Pedro will give an account of what is happening in Sabbath school, the number of attendance and how much offering was collected for the past Sabbath and other things concerning Sabbath school.
